Allan Pero has a deep background in visual arts and art history, and currently works in marker on watercolour paper. He particularly admires the work of Wyndham Lewis (on whose work Allan’s doctoral thesis was focused), Alan Davie, Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, Prunella Clough, Michael Ayrton, and Remedios Varo. His own images are spontaneous, energetic, and full of colour, and disrupt the distinction between technology and living things.

When it comes to photography, Allan is enamoured of flowers, graveyards, beaches, and cityscapes. Their shapes and colours, in turn, influence his drawing.
